The main job

Answer three questions for someone standing in a puddle with a phone: can you come, roughly what will it cost, and can I trust you.

What it does

• Keeps your phone number in the header and a Call / Quote bar on the bottom of the phone screen.
• Checks a postcode and tells the visitor whether you cover the area and how quickly you respond.
• Gives a typical price range after a few taps, and passes it on with the quote request.
• Shows finished jobs with a before/after slider, along with reviews.
• Gives each service and each area its own page, which helps with local search.

Who it is for

Plumbing and heating firms, electricians, roofers, builders, locksmiths and any local trade that lives on phone calls. Nothing in the design is specific to plumbing, so another trade only changes the services and prices.

Why it is worth it

• Built for phones first, because that is where these customers are.
• The postcode check falls back to a plain list of areas without JavaScript.
• A wrong reference between services and areas stops the build instead of going live.
• Name, phone numbers, hours and section switches live in one settings file.
